What Are Full Mouth Dental Implants?

Full mouth dental implants are non-removable dentures that restore a full arch of missing teeth. Implant-supported dental restorations are the most comprehensive way to replace lost teeth.

Our periodontist, Dr. Thiago Morelli, will partner with your dentist to coordinate dental implant surgery and the placement of your restoration. Most patients go from complete tooth loss to a brand-new smile in just one day.

Consultation

The process of restoring a complete arch of teeth begins with an implant dentistry consultation with Dr. Morelli. At this time, we'll take advanced X-rays and scans of the structures in your mouth and determine if dental implants are the right dentistry option to meet your needs.

Preparatory Procedures

Full mouth dental implants require good oral health and strong jawbone density. For some patients, preparatory procedures like bone grafting, sinus lifts, or gum disease treatment may be needed before dental implants can be placed.

Placing the Implants

The treatment site will be thoroughly numbed to ensure your comfort. Then the biocompatible titanium implant posts will be inserted into the jawbone.

Placing the Abutments

A connecting piece, called an abutment, will be attached to each dental implant. The abutments will hold your denture securely to the implants.

Restoration

Most patients are able to receive their new full-arch dentures soon after implant placement, often on the same day as implant surgery at our Raleigh office. Dr. Morelli will coordinate with your dentist so that they will have your new teeth ready for you.

Does Insurance
Cover Treatment?

/

While traditional dentures are often covered by dental insurance, implants aren't often covered. However, we can check with your dental insurance provider to learn if the restoration or other parts of treatment are covered. We also accept monthly financing through CareCredit® and LendingClub® at low to no interest fees.
